Conditions we treat

Headache and migraine relief in Battle Creek and Galesburg.

The kind of headache that comes back every week, starts at the base of the skull, or sits behind one eye. A lot of these have a cause we can actually do something about.

Where recurring headaches often start

Not every headache is the same, but a large share of the recurring ones begin in the neck. Tight muscles and stiff joints at the base of the skull refer pain up into the head, which is why a headache can feel like it wraps from the neck around to behind the eyes. Stress, screens, posture, and poor sleep all feed it.

Migraines are their own thing, with light sensitivity, nausea, and a pounding that can flatten a day. For many people who get migraines, neck tension is a trigger, and easing it reduces how often they show up.

How we approach headaches at Myers Chiropractic

We look for the source rather than chasing the symptom. That means examining your neck and upper back, asking about your triggers and your sleep, and finding out whether the pain patterns point back to the joints and muscles we can treat.

When they do, adjustments and in house massage ease the tension that feeds the headaches. Dr. Rachelle Myers can also talk through nutrition and habits that some patients find play a role. You are never pushed into a long plan.

Headache questions

What people ask us about their headaches.

Can a chiropractor help with migraines?

We do not claim to cure migraines. What we can do is treat the neck tension that triggers them for many people, which often means fewer and less severe episodes. The exam tells us whether yours are likely to respond.

How do I know if my headache is coming from my neck?

Headaches that start at the base of the skull, worsen with certain neck positions, or come with neck stiffness often have a neck component. We check for this directly.

Do you use medication?

No. Chiropractic care is hands on. If medication is part of your plan, that is between you and your medical doctor.

How soon might I notice a difference?

It varies. Some people feel looser after the first visit, others need a few. We give you an honest read after the exam.
