The Voice-Tribune
I.  Security Audit Overall finding : site compromised

Gambling spam has been injected into your published articles.

The Voice-Tribune  ·  Louisville, Kentucky  ·  Batch 2  ·  Public inspection, August 4, 2026  ·  No active scanning or authenticated access

During routine public inspection, corePHP found online gambling spam inserted directly into Voice-Tribune editorial pages. Google has already indexed that spam under the publication's own name. The homepage still looks clean. The damage is living inside your published stories and in the search snippets your readers see.

Findings at a glance

Five items  ·  one critical, four high
01

SEO spam injected into published articles

English "slot gacor" text and Dutch language casino copy were appended inside real, published editorial pages, not comments or ads.

Critical
02

Multiple indexed editorial pages affected

This is not a single page. Several published stories carry injected content that search engines have already crawled and stored.

High
03

Brand and reputation exposure

A respected Louisville publication is now carrying gambling spam inside its own stories and inside the search results that represent it.

High
04

Injection vector on Wix, entry point unconfirmed

The site runs on Wix. The spam likely entered through a compromised editor account, a malicious app or embed, or injected markup. The exact door is not yet confirmed.

High
05

Risk of a Google "this site may be hacked" flag

For a publication that lives on search and social distribution, a hacked-site label and the ranking loss that follows would cut directly into readership.

Platform note

On Wix, the immediate fix is to identify and revoke the injection method, whether that is editor access, a third-party app, or an injected embed, and then monitor for reinfection. That removes today's spam. It does not remove the underlying exposure. A managed, hardened rebuild on a platform we control removes the recurring risk for good.

Why it matters

Reputation

Readers and advertisers see gambling spam sitting inside the magazine's own content.

Search

A hacked-site flag and ranking loss hit a publication that depends on being found.

Advertising

Sponsors care about brand safety. Spam beside their placements is a real concern.

Escalation

Injection footholds tend to get upgraded, from spam to redirects to malware.

Recommended next steps
A.

Immediate, this week

Remove injected spam from every affected post
Audit editor accounts and connected apps
Reset credentials and enable two-factor sign in
Request a Google Search Console review
Monitor closely for reinfection
B.

Strategic, the durable fix

Move to a secure, managed WordPress and Elementor platform with a web application firewall, active malware monitoring, and real editorial roles and permissions. The magazine keeps its voice and its archive. The recurring exposure goes away. The next section shows exactly what that looks like.

II.  Website Design

The magazine, rebuilt clean.

Not a wireframe. This is a real, approvable homepage for The Voice-Tribune, built on the secure platform we recommend, using your own logo and your own editorial photography. Read it the way a reader would.
